چکیده
In this study, we implement a Nonstandard Finite Difference (NSFD) scheme for predator-prey model involving cannibalism and refuge in predator. The which is considered as discrete dynamical system analyzed. performed analysis includes the determination of equilibrium point its local stability. has four points, namely origin, prey extinction point, predator coexistence have exactly same form existence conditions those continuous system. stability each first three points consistent with one depends on integration time step size. Nevertheless, NSFD allows us to choose size solution converge feasible more flexible than Euler 4th order Runge-Kutta schemes. These are shown via numerical simulations.

The Dynamical Analysis of a Delayed Prey-Predator Model with a Refuge-Stage Structure Prey Population
A mathematical model describing the dynamics of a delayed stage structure prey - predator system with prey refuge is considered. The existence, uniqueness and bounded- ness of the solution are discussed. All the feasibl e equilibrium points are determined. The stability analysis of them are investigated. By employ ing the time delay as the bifurcation parame...
متن کاملNonstandard Numerical Methods for a Class of Predator-prey Models with Predator Interference
We analyze a class of predator-prey models with BeddingtonDeAngelis type functional response. The models incorporate the mutual interference between predators, which stabilizes predator-prey interactions even when only a linear intrinsic growth rate of the prey population is considered. Positive and elementary stable nonstandard (PESN) finite-difference methods, having the same qualitative feat...

متن کاملEffects of size refuge specificity on a predator-prey model
Predation is a major cause of early-stage mortality for prey individuals, which are often forced to use refuges in order to reduce the risk of being consumed. The ability of certain genotypes in a prey population to reach a size refuge from predation may contribute significantly to the preservation of community diversity. We investigate how the specificity of this behavior affects the evolution...
متن کاملInducible defenses in prey intensify predator cannibalism.
Trophic cascades are often a potent force in ecological communities, but abiotic and biotic heterogeneity can diffuse their influence. For example, inducible defenses in many species create variation in prey edibility, and size-structured interactions, such as cannibalism, can shift predator diets away from heterospecific prey. Although both factors diffuse cascade strength by adding heterogene...
